Through drama, children are able to experience a subject, complementing and enhancing their learning in the classroom. The Drama Hut was founded in 2012, as a resource for primary schools, to help bring the curriculum to life and support learning.
All of our workshops are available on-site and online, facilitated by professional actors, encouraging learning in a creative environment. With a wide range of topics to choose from, let us create a unique learning experience for your school.

Rosa Parks-A Time for Change
During this Drama Hut Workshop, we travel with Rosa Parks back to the 1950's and explore how within America's 'Golden Age', the injustices of prejudice, segregation and racism flourished, along with the growth of 'The Civil Rights Movement.

During this Drama Hut Workshop, travel back in time to the 1850's with Mary Seacole herself and explore her extraordinary life and work. Through role play and improvisation we reimagine life through Marys eyes as a nurse during the Crimean War!

During this Drama Hut Workshop we meet 'Astrid' The Viking and travel back in time to 793 AD. Together, the children will create images of Viking Britain, set sail in a Viking longboat, solve riddles and discover why the Vikings came to our shore!

Join Molly Brown aboard the Titanic in this cross-curricular drama workshop. Through storytelling and performance, children explore the ship's voyage and hear voices from different classes and backgrounds during this historic event.

Greek Workshops
During this Drama Hut workshop, the children will meet Athena, the feisty favourite Goddess and daughter of Zeus. Experience life in Ancient Greece, play 'Guess the God', act out the famous 'King Midas' Myth and even compete in an Olympic race!

During this Drama Hut Workshop, you will join Pirate Penny for a boat load of fun! Penny will put her new recruits to work! You'll be scrubbing the decks, firing the cannons, hunting for treasure and lots of sea shanty singing along the way too!

This Drama Hut Workshop is aimed at inspiring young writers over the festive season. Let our professional actor, take the children on an adventure to explore the stories and characters created by one of the world's favourite children's authors!

During this Drama Hut workshop your class will meet maid Ember Whitby in the year 1354. Join Ember as she gives your class an insight into medieval Britain- noble Knights, colossal castles and the petrifying plague!

Roman Workshop
During this Drama Hut Workshop, we meet 'Queen Boudicca', leader of the Celts. We explore what life was like in Roman Britain and help her try to defeat the Roman army using their discipline, battle formations and the differences between two tribes.

Windrush - Migration Workshop
During this workshop, the children will pack their bags leaving the Caribbean Island of Jamacia and board HMT Windrush to journey to post war Britain. Through drama, song and poetry we will explore how the Windrush generation helped re-build Britain.

The Great Fire of London
During this Drama Hut workshop the children will meet Thomas Farriner, the King's baker, who survived the Great Fire. Uncover what happened during those four fateful days whilst debating with Samuel Pepys, how the fire changed London forever!
