Covid-19

With changing guidelines from government, The Drama Hut are committed to supporting schools through this challenging time and will not charge for any sessions that need to be postponed due to COVID19 even if we get the call the night before! In addition, all of our workshops are now available online as well as onsite, giving you complete flexibility on how sessions are delivered. Our online option is live and interactive viewed ideally on a large screen in a classroom or school hall and also allows any children to log in to from home, if having to self isolate. Please do contact us on info@thedramahut.com for further information.

At The Drama Hut, we believe that schools should have ready access to affordable drama workshops in order to support learning. The Drama Hut was created in order to provide a service that teachers could access, to help bring the curriculum to life. Through drama, children are able to experience a subject, complementing and enhancing their learning in the classroom.
With over two hundred schools visited last year, we are passionate about the impact that drama within schools, can have on children’s education.

During this workshop our professional actor will take on the role of Thomas Farriner, the King’s baker, from Pudding Lane, who survived the fire to tell the story of what happened during those three fateful days. Discover with help from him and later Samuel Pepys, the famous diarist of the time, what it was like to live in London before and after the fire. During this workshop the children will, create 10 second pictures from the period, act out a poem depicting the events of those three days during which the fire raged through London, with movement and song, become the fire itself and debate with Samuel Pepys how the fire changed London forever and discuss how architecture could be improved for the future.

Drama Hut have worked with our school on many occasions. Each time, the workshops have been well planned out- with teachers ideas in mind, well executed by very enthusiastic practitioners and have been thoroughly enjoyed by all children! Each workshop has engaged the children enormously, using original ideas that involve the children through practical games and activities. I would recommend this drama company to all schools.
