River Habitats & Environmental Change



Rivers and Environmental Issues is an exciting day of learning activities in the classroom and on the river foreshore. Pupils take part in river-dipping, identify birds and invertebrates, observe river features and use equipment to record data.

We offer a unique opportunity for young people to experience the River Thames close up! All our staff are experienced in working with children in an outdoor environment and are trained in water health and safety. Our activities support the National Curriculum and we provide resources and worksheets for the children to use on the day. Our friendly admin team aims to make planning your trip as easy as possible and we can provide information on how to conduct a pre-site visit and risk assessment. Our full day programmes usually take place from with a short break for lunch and include a 2 hour workshop in a classroom within 15 minutes walk from the river and a 2 hour workshop on the foreshore.
