Why book PrimeVR for educational workshops into your school?
Our workshops are a great way of bringing the curriculum to life without the hassle of organising a school trip!
During the Ancient Egypt workshop, your children will 'virtually' visit and learn about the following:
- Visit the Pyramids of Giza and learn about how they might have been built
- Hover over the Great Sphinx
- Step inside a typical Egyptian tomb
- Visit the Temples of Abu Simbel and see the statue of Ramesses II
Your class will learn about how the Pyramids might have been built and why it still baffles archaeologists even today. Your pupils will also have the opportunity to see what is inside a typical Egyptian tomb!
Following on from this workshop, your pupils can produce a piece of creative writing based on their experience of helping to build the Pyramids of Giza. Our literacy bundles include lesson plans, example texts and LKS2 and UKS2 writing checklists.
Which Curriculum Subjects do you cater for?
Following on from our workshops, teachers can use our follow up literacy based lesson plans to encourage creative writing. Our lesson plans use a variety of different texts including information, diary and persuasive.
We can take your class to visit the Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx, along the River Nile and even inside an Egyptian tomb!
What activities are available during group visits?
We cover the following topics using VR:
Rainforests, Space, Egyptians, Mayans, Volcanoes, Wonders of the World, Under the Sea, WW1, Polar Regions, Digestive System, Romans, Stone Age, Mountains, Americas, The Tudors, Vikings, Circulatory System, Africa, Animals, India & Beyond, Journey Across China, The Respiratory System and Around the World.
What size groups do you cater for?
Over a full day, we can deliver a maximum of 8 workshops with up to 32 children in each (maximum of 256 children in a day). We bring in 16 VR headsets and we usually run our workshops with children sharing one headset between two. However, if you would prefer, we can split classes into two groups to allow children to have one headset each.
Do you offer on-site classroom facilities?
We deliver our workshops on the school-site. We require one classroom or hall for the day.
Do you cater for visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
Yes. We've worked with a number of SEN schools and the response/feedback to VR has been fantastic.
"PrimeVR visited our school to deliver an Egyptian experience to our children, touring the Great Pyramid and the inside of a tomb. Our host, Oliver, was very knowledgeable and gave a brilliant presentation to the children.
The children were all engaged throughout the session through a well-targeted and exciting task. I would certainly recommend this experience to other schools, and know that PrimeVR are back to deliver another two sessions with us, such was the success of our first"
