The importance of triangulation to brace the two dimensional shapes to aid teh construction of strong three dimensional structures is imperitive to ensure the pupils are successful in the building of the 4m high Pyramind of Giza.
Pupils Work individually, in groups and altogether to create one large structure, or remaining in groups make their own structure. e.g. bridge, shelter, sculpture. The teamwork and resilience needed helps develop pupils cooperative intelligence.
Pupils make small Pyramids individually, which are joined together in groups of five. these in turn are connected to make a larger pyramid. This is practise for the building of the finale huge Pyramid 4m high. Inbetween pupils take part in "moving the stone" a bit of drama where the class teacher usually plays the part of a piece of sandstone while they are rolled accross the floor on a sledge over rollers.
