School Activity Day Trips

Physical Educational days outside the classroom

What are some exciting activity day trips available for school groups in the UK?

Popular activity day trips in the UK for school groups include visits to theme parks, outdoor adventure centers, historical sites, and seaside resorts, offering educational and fun experiences.

The value of group activities to a class of young students is difficult to overstate. Maybe you are a new year group looking to form friendship bonds and class cohesion, or perhaps the activities form part of a reward day for making it through Year 6 SATS in one piece. Working together to problem solve can give children the opportunity to develop leadership skills, or social skills through teamwork.

Well planned group activities will encourage students to collaborate, communicate effectively, and support one another as they tackle a set of challenges together. As they problem-solve, children learn to make us of each other's unique skills and strengths. These activities can develop empathy, and teach really useful skills such as patience and compromise. Skills that will be useful in and out of school.

When it comes to school activity days, there are many formats to choose from. For a real challenge you may like to try a new adventure activity such as rock climbing or sailing. These are usually offered by established activity centres, some of whom may offer residential stays if you find you enjoyed what they offered in the form of a taster day. We have outdoor scavenger hunts, escape room style activities, nature walks, indoor pursuits and team-building games. We even have a medieval re-enactment activity day! These activity days are designed to allow school groups to try new experiences that are not offered in a typical school week.

If you need ideas for an activity day for your school group, locally or for a provider who can visit your school, take a look at the options below or complete the short form on this page.
