Discovery Package - Our discovery packages allows teachers to offer a flexible programme of fun and challenging activities. Activities available include archery, orienteering, shelter building, team challenges, archaeological dig, local tourist attractions and let’s get cooking.
History package – Grab a chance to immerse your students in the life and times of York through the ages! This flexible packages has on-site activities that have been designed to complement the award-winning attractions that are available locally including; JORVIK Centre, DIG: an Archaeological Adventure, Clifford Tower, Barley Hall, York Minster, York Dungeons, The National Railway Museum, and The Chocolate Story.
YHA Bolt-on - These activities are perfect for teachers to add on as an 'extra' particularly for self-led groups. The benefit of having hostel grounds and classroom areas is that we can offer space to lead activities without you needing to travel anywhere. Activities include: team challenges, siege engines, guided walk, Viking longboats, & Go create.

What size groups do you cater for?
YHA York has 203 beds, meaning we easily accommodate both large and small groups.
Do you offer on-site classroom facilities?
Yes We do have the ability to provide a classroom-like environment. You can tell us your group size and any specific requirements in the form below.
Is there first aid on site?
Yes, and we are also committed to ensuring we meet stringent health and safety standards - please contact us if you need any further details.
Do you offer access for visitors with disabilities?
At YHA York we strive to cater for everybody. We have one accessible bedroom on the ground floor of the courtyard annexe with an accessible en-suite bathroom. We also have step-free access into the hostel, portable induction loop, vibrating pillow alarm, ground floor bedrooms in the main and courtyard annexes, en-suite rooms and an accessible public WC.

YHA York has been awarded the Quality Badge by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom.
