At Hindleap, physical activity is part of the fun in every session, helping young people get active, build strength, and work together as a team. Our high ropes courses, like the ‘Leap of Faith’ trapeze jump, ‘Giant See-Saw,’ and ‘Gladiator Challenge,’ offer a chance to push personal limits and conquer fears, all while improving agility and confidence. Abseiling and climbing walls add to the excitement, and our obstacle courses, including the low ropes and underground maze, help boost balance, teamwork, and problem-solving. The iconic wet tunnels are a real challenge—crawling through damp pipes is sure to test both physical strength and determination, but a hot shower at the end makes it all worth it! For those looking to really get into the wilderness, our forest adventure lets groups explore 300 acres of woodland, tackling streams, mud, and dense undergrowth, all while working together and having fun in the great outdoors.
The activities on site are designed to help young people build confidence, teamwork, and resilience. Through exciting challenges, they’ll have the chance to face their fears, set goals, and support each other. Working together on physical tasks boosts problem-solving skills and encourages cooperation. They also learn patience and perseverance through practical, hands-on activities while connecting with nature. These experiences promote trust, communication, and decision-making, helping young people manage stress and build emotional strength. Overall, the activities foster personal growth, self-reflection, and the development of essential life skills.
Our bushcraft sessions teach essential survival skills in a hands-on, engaging way. Participants learn fire lighting techniques using flint and steel, foraging for dry wood, and working together to light their own fires to pop popcorn—an exciting challenge that fosters teamwork and perseverance. Survival skills training includes water filtration, plant and tree identification, and wild tea brewing, tailored to the season. For a complete bushcraft experience, we offer shelter building and advanced firelighting, all under the supervision of skilled instructors ensuring safety and responsible practices.
Our watersports activities give young people the chance to have fun in the great outdoors while building teamwork and communication skills. Running from April to October, these activities make the most of the warmer months, encouraging participants to enjoy the water and develop leadership and confidence along the way. With the support of our experienced instructors, we create a relaxed and enjoyable environment where everyone can get involved and work together.
The activities at Hindleap are all about building confidence and resilience through teamwork. By tackling challenges together, young people learn to communicate, collaborate, and support one another.
