Day Trips at Willen Lake School Trip

location icon Milton Keynes MK15 0DS

London & South East Buckinghamshire

trip icon Every trip is tailored to the needs of the school. We can meet your educational requirements, with our sessions which are run by highly trained instructors. We have lots of green space, which can be used for lunches, lawn games or for teachers to chill out!

Once you are on site, our team will run the day and sort out the organisation of each session. In between sessions we will need the teachers help to get everybody gathered on time, but apart from that the teachers can sit back and relax. Walking around the lake is also a pleasant experience, with wonderful views from each angle meaning you can watch the different sessions running at each location.

We can take from 6 to 500 people per day spread out across all of the activities, so whether you want to bring a team, class, year group or whole school, we can be sure to fit you all in.

green tick PSHE School Trip

Healthy Living Teamwork and resilience

Lots of our activities require team work, communication skills and awareness of others. We hope to help make students more involved with each other and the activity by the use of positive guidance. Working together as a team or cheering on another individual boosts moral and get the students engaged with one another.

green tick Watersports School Trip

SUP Stand Up Paddleboarding Sailing Kayaking Canoeing Raft Building Windsurfing Kata Kanuing

We offer a range of Watersports: Sailing, Windsurfing, Kayaking, Canoeing, Raft Building, Dragon Boating, Katakanu, Stand up Paddleboarding and Kneeboarding. Most of these activities teach the children about different methods of transport on the water, and how their craft is affected by water and wind movement. These activities are sure to end with a splash if the students want more!

Forces Seasonal change

With Sailsports and Paddlesports, we can look at the use of the wind on the sail, and the water on the blade. We can focus on how this makes our craft move through the water and what helps to keep us balanced.

Extreme Weather Sustainable living

At Willen Lake we can experience many different weather conditions. With an open lake we are subjected to lots of wind and with the trees around the perimeter we also have wind that changes direction frequently. We have different stages of wind strength to talk about, and different conditions we might come across.
By travelling by boat, we also are teaching how to travel without fuel, which could make for improved sustainable living.

What size groups do we cater for?

We can take groups from sizes of 6 up to 500, depending on the activities you choose.

On-site classroom facilities?

We have a training room, which fits up to 24 children. Use of the training room would include: lunch for rainy days, theory sessions for activities or for teachers to use whilst not on session.

Is there first aid on site?

All of our instructors are qualified to give First Aid. We also have a Senior Instructor on site for all trips that is on hand to help on the shore for all first aid incidents.

Access for visitors with disabilities

Whilst some activities may have restrictions, our lake is flat all the way round and we do have disabled facilities available on site.

Visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Yes, we can take groups from all backgrounds and experiences. We are always keen to see more people trying out adventurous activities and believes it gives students a good sense of achievement.
