The huge geographical region of the West Midlands has a varied geography, history and landscape, numerous counties, and a great many towns and cities. The West Midlands comprises a mix of quiet rural charm and vibrant urban centres such as Birmingham.

The region was the birth place of artists, painters and inventors. The Industrial Revolution was also born here and there are some fabulous museums dedicated to teaching school children about various aspects of industrial growth. Curriculum Enrichment - Outdoor Learning

Wyre Forest is managed by Forestry England and encompasses around 2400 hectares (6000 acres) of woodland. Wyre Forest is one of the largest remaining ancient woodlands in England and is considered to be the third most important forest in terms of wildlife value. There are two meeting rooms available to hire as a space for lunch, as well as toilet facilities, a café, play park and ample parking available on site. The forest provides a wealth of opportunities to study a variety of habitats, and woodland flora and fauna. There are dedicated orienteering trails as well as seasonal trails designed for children and families to encourage a deeper exploration of the forest.
