Bushcraft School Trip


Our Bushcraft instructors are passionate about providing an immersive and memorable experience for students in the great outdoors. With activities such as fire lighting, campfires, den and shelter building, and survival skills, students are sure to be engaged and inspired. The beautiful surroundings next to the Grand Union Canal provide the perfect backdrop for these activities.

In addition to the canal, we have access to three different water environments, including the River Cole and the Sparkbrook, as well as a pond which is perfect for species comparison and observation. During early spring, we have the opportunity to watch parent geese caring for their goslings along the canal. Our woodland wilderness area also offers a disc golf course, providing students with a unique and exciting way to explore and interact with nature.

Watersports School Trip

As a British Canoeing Approved Centre, Ackers Adventure can get you out on the water in canoes, kayaks, or bell boats - whether you're looking for a fun introductory session or working towards a British Canoeing Paddle Award.

Forest School School Trip


At Ackers Adventure, we offer Forest School sessions in our beautiful woodland area, providing engaging and exciting activities that encourage children to explore, discover, and learn through nature.

Our sessions promote confidence, creativity, and teamwork, helping children develop new skills while enjoying the outdoors in a safe and inspiring environment.


What size groups do we cater for?

At Ackers Adventure, we're equipped to work with groups of all sizes. Our standard group structure is based on multiples of 10 students, ensuring that each participant receives the right level of attention and instruction.

Depending on the programme agreed, we can accommodate up to 120 participants at one time - perfect for large school groups, corporate events, or youth organisations.

We can also offer private lessons or small group sessions for individuals or teams who prefer a more personalised experience and focused instruction.

On-site classroom facilities?

To make your visit as comfortable and convenient as possible, Ackers Adventure offers a multi-purpose hall that can be used as a classroom, briefing space, or a base for breaks and lunch.

This facility is available for hire at a small additional charge and provides a great space for lesson time, indoor activities, or simply relaxing between sessions.

Is there first aid on site?

At Ackers Adventure, safety is our top priority. All of our instructing staff hold relevant first aid qualifications, ensuring that every session is conducted with the highest level of care and professionalism.

For additional peace of mind, we also have two defibrillators on site, and our team is trained and ready to respond to any situation quickly and effectively.

Access for visitors with disabilities

Ackers Adventure is a unique and exciting charity offering a wide range of outdoor activities for people of all ages, abilities, and disabilities.

Set across 75 acres of diverse landscapes and habitats right in the heart of Birmingham, our centre is a hidden urban oasis overlooking the city - the perfect place to escape, explore, and enjoy adventure in the great outdoors.

Here's just a taste of what we offer:

Skiing - Take to our 100-metre ski slope, complete with nursery slopes ideal for beginners, as well as space for more experienced skiers to hone their skills.

Tubing - Slip and slide down our main slope in donut-style tubes for the ultimate adrenaline experience.
