Financial assistance and bursaries for school visits

Looking for cheap school trip ideas? Can it really be possible to go on a trip for free? Well aside from your transport costs, there really are places you can visit without any cost to the children. Visit any of the great historical venues run by English Heritage, the natural outdoor sites managed by the RSPB or the WWT, or a number of other great UK venues, and as long as you are happy to lead the trip yourself, your class can get in for free!

In order to get a cheaper school trip, some venues do require you to book ahead of time, and we always recommend that school groups get in contact to discuss any requirements. These venues are super helpful and have lots of experience in helping you get the most out of your visit.

The benefits gained when children are given learning opportunities outside the classroom cannot be overstated. We strongly believe that school trips should be available to everyone, not just those who can afford it.

Take a look below to find a good range of completely free school trips as well as plenty that offer bursaries, helping to make your trip cheaper. Use the purple form so that we can help find an affordable trip for your school. Also see this page for sources of funding for school visits. Alternatively, we may be able to source funding for you if your request is for an educational day trip: M7E Funding
