Why book Immersive Experiences's Volcanoes workshop for your school?
74,000 years ago, on the island of Sumatra, the eruption of the volcano Toba was the largest volcanic eruption our planet had experienced in 25 million years.
Yet there have been far greater. 250 million years ago, an eruption in what is now Siberia lasted a million years and was likely responsible for the greatest mass extinction in Earth’s history.
This immersive film also explores giant volcanic eruptions elsewhere in our Solar System; flying audiences to Neptune’s frigid moon Triton, as well as the ultimate volcanic world: Jupiter’s moon Io.
Back on Earth, the legendary North American hotspot Yellowstone National Park raises the question: could a supervolcano erupt in our time?
Which Curriculum Subjects do you cater for?
These experiences are delivered within our stunning 360° domes or immersive room projections within the classrom. Children sit or lay down as they journey through the experiences
Curriculum topics available: Extreme Weather, Global warming, Climate change.
Inside our dome student learn about meteorological phenomena, explore our planet's biosphere and examine global weather patterns in this dynamic 360˚ film.
Today we see disturbing indications that our planet is warming up: increased global temperatures, variations in the frequency and intensity of rain cycles, extreme meteorological events, retreating glacial ice and advancing desertification.
Yet the Earth has experienced long-term, natural climate change before. Is what we are experiencing today unavoidable or is it the result of human activity?
Discover answers to these questions and the role you have to play in this unfolding drama. Preview the entire film below.
