National Marine Aquarium
Your journey will take you across the world's oceans from the shores of Plymouth to the coral reefs of the tropics. Our hosts deliver an action packed talk schedule, including the not to be missed our interactive dive show at 2pm daily.
Why are National Marine Aquarium great for School Trips and Educational Visits?
The National Marine Aquarium was the first aquarium in the UK to be set up solely for the purposes of education, conservation and research.
We believe students should be inspired to learn about the marine curriculum through hands on experience - that's why we have invested in a brand new state of the art learning centre - Just Add H2O Learning Zone.
Our innovative and inspirational learning programme is delivered by a team of dedicated marine biologists, qualified teachers and resident artists.
Just Add H2O has the following facilities available at the aquarium
* AquaLab for pratical group workshops
* A TV Studio to produce films
* A science theatre to enable students to interact during shows
* Seminar rooms fully spec'd to enhance the learning experience
What size groups do you cater for?
We can accommodate groups of any size, from single classes to whole schools.
Is there first aid on site?
The National Marine Aquarium has qualified First Aiders on duty during opening hours.
Do you offer access for visitors with disabilities?
The National Marine Aquarium is committed to providing Access for All. The aquarium is accessible by ramps and lifts throughout. There are a number of disabled parking bays on site and there are drop off points for minibuses and coaches. We have a limited number of wheelchairs on site available free of charge on a first come first served basis and there are full disabled toilet facilities.

"We were shown fish and octopus being fed in their tanks and had a talk about life and conservation in the oceans. Being able to walk through a tunnel with the big fish swimming over your head was the biggest hit with the children. It's a very polished venue with lots to hold your interest."
