School Trips and Visits in Herefordshire

ideas and inspiration

Historical day visits in Hereford, outdoor team building activities near Leominster, PSHE or Literacy in the Wye Valley, or a workshop to visit your Herefordshire school. Whatever you are looking for, we can help you find something suitable for your group.

Often described as one of the most rural counties in England, Herefordshire, in the West Midlands, is a lovely location for a class trip and has plenty to keep school groups busy during the school term.

One of the jewels in Hereforshire's crown for school groups is Goodrich Castle in Ross-on-Wye, a prominent location during the Civil War of the Stuart period. The castle is managed by English Heritage and looks exactly like the drawings your Year 4 group would make if asked to draw a castle. An excellent day out, and has free visits for school groups.

The YHA isn't just a great place for school groups to sleep, their extensive education programme offers a range of cross-curricular activities including fossil hunting, pond dipping and river studies, orienteering and maps, human geography fieldwork, and plenty more. For more action packed activities, try Oakerwood Leisure near Leominster.

Want to know where to take your school group in Herefordshire? Here are some fun educational trips from venues such as Team Building Outdoor Adventures, Goodrich Castle, Oaker Wood Leisure, and more.

Able to travel to other counties in West Midlands, have a look at our trip pages for: Birmingham, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, for more school trip ideas.
