The Past Presents is a partnership between two established and high quality historical experience companies - Reach the Core ltd and Up an' at 'Em History.
We combine our years of experience teaching young people with our unrivalled equipment, resources & activities to bring to you the wonderment of the past.
Our passion is to provide an evolving, ever-improving vehicle for learning which we can use to spark in your young people an interest in History.
It is also important to us that we use these wondrous vehicles for learning to communicate one of the key reasons for studying History....that understanding the past helps us understand who we are and where we are going.
When it comes to what we deliver and how we deliver it, nobody goes the extra mile like we do...
OUR VANS ARE HUGE! ... because we fill them with resources, kit and equipment for you!
OUR SET-UP TIMES ARE LONG! ...because we want to take the time to turn your classroom, hall or playground into Ancient Wonders!
OUR INSTRUCTORS ARE PHYSICALLY FIT! ...because they don't stand and talk; they act, fight, direct, group manage, build and construct alongside your young people.
OUR WORKSHOPS FIT YOUR NEEDS! ... all of our workshops are closely linked to the curriculum and delivered by our instructors who know how to engage young people!
In short....no one will go as far as we do to ensure your young people have the most value from one of our visits!

Session 4 – Severe Sieges: Using our exclusive range of ancient siege weapons, students can understand the nature of medieval siege warfare and conduct their very own siege!
Session 5 – Weapons & Warfare: This 2-part session looks at weapons, arms and armour and the arms race that developed throughout the middle ages. Close focus is placed on characters such as the Knight and Archer

Any. We can take one class, a whole year group or the whole school depending on your budget!
All of our 'Reel History' online live-interactive workshops are conducted via Zoom, where we host the call. No recording takes place and video can be turned on or off depending whether young people can be seen or not.
For our online workshops, schools will need: A good, stable internet connection, an interactive whiteboard, projector and screen or large TV connected to a computer. You will need to connect to Zoom, link to a screen of some kind and have speakers that project sound to your children watching.
Yes of course. Our sessions are fully inclusive and adaptive.
Yes absolutely. We currently work in partnership with a local SEN school so we are experienced in delivering to all levels.
Our Instructors are First Aid trained but we would expect the schools we visit to deal with any first aid incidents as per their own procedures.
