This day visit can be tailored in many ways, and uses experiential learning to undertake a combination of activities such as: -
* explore the different natural habitats (woodland, meadow, hedgerow, pond)
* nature walk with time to stop, be still in nature, and use the senses (Science, PSHE/ SEMH)
* collect nature items along the walk (scavenger hunt, leaf / seed bingo, colour wheels) or complete a Nature Trail, Tree explore, use plant / flower spotting sheets, and look at animal home / nest building (Science)
* Use hoops / quadrats or doing a transect to count species diversity working in small groups to collect data - Geography (Y5/6/7)
* Minibeast hunting / Pond dipping (seasonal activities) - Science all ages.
* Food chain / web game, active game to explore food chains.
* Exploring how being in nature makes children feel, linking with 5 ways to wellbeing, reflecting / stillness in nature / sights, smells, sounds, feelings, shared experiences and belonging, reflection and review time (PSHE / SEMH)
