Educator-led groups must be a minimum of 20 students.

Visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Trentham Monkey Forest offers SEN-friendly workshops as part of their home-education programme, providing small group sizes and a flexible, supportive environment. Children begin with calm, educator-led sessions indoors before taking gentle, guided walks through the forest to observe free-roaming macaques and their habitats. Activities are hands-on and multi-sensory, allowing pupils to engage at their own pace, re-visit favourite spots, or take breaks as needed. This approach helps reduce overstimulation, fosters curiosity, and builds confidence, social skills, and a love of nature, making learning accessible and enjoyable for SEN children.

Options...

Self-leading - With multiple information boards and lots of information available to download from our website, Monkey Forest is set up ideally for self-leafing educational visits. No booking is required for self-leading trips.

Educator-Led - One hour is spent with a member of our education team either in the park or in our education centre, depending on the lesson and age of the students. After the session, there is unlimited time to explore the forest and the onsite facilities. Booking is essential and we recommend booking in advance, minimum of 20 students.
