Why book 'Ackers Adventure Residential centre' with Ackers Adventure for Residential School Trips and Educational Visits?
Ackers has its own 26-bed self-catering residential centre which can be booked on its own or we can build a package of activities to challenge your students during the day. We can cater for anything from a full day activity package of climbing, canoeing, zip wires etc to a one off activity. Alternatively you could visit Ackers and use our fantastic dry ski slope for a full day of ski lessons, or a morning in a boat, fishing for rubbish and plastic in the Grand Union Canal to help the environment finished off with a round of Disc golf on our nine hole woodland course.
At Ackers, we offer a diverse range of activities to suit every interest and age group.

What activities are available during group visits?
Ackers Adventure offers a number of activities that coincide with curriculum subjects or programmes that can be adapted to cover current topics. We can also run GCSE PE in Skiing, Climbing and Canoeing, Primary Orienteering, Snowlife Awards and Paddle Awards.
Our experienced instructors can tailor activities to suit the needs of your group, whether it's team building or individual challenges.
We provide all necessary equipment, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Which Curriculum Subjects do you cater for?
Maths
Measurement Graphs and data If you would like to include Maths as an outcome then why not Measure and calculate the length of our Ski slope or Zip wire then calculate the speed of descent, Alternatively collect the scores from an Archery session and then manipulate the data back in the class room.
Physical Education
Climbing Canoeing Orienteering Archery Kayaking Ackers Adventure offers a variety of outdoor activities that can be customised to meet your specific needs.
Whether you're interested in a GCSE course in Climbing or looking to obtain National governing body awards in Canoeing and Skiing, we have the expertise to help you achieve your goals.

Bushcraft
Our Bushcraft instructors are passionate about providing an immersive and memorable experience for students in the great outdoors. With activities such as fire lighting, campfires, den and shelter building, and survival skills, students are sure to be engaged and inspired. The beautiful surroundings next to the Grand Union Canal provide the perfect backdrop for these activities.
In addition to the canal, we have access to three different water environments, including the River Cole and the Sparkbrook, as well as a pond which is perfect for species comparison and observation. During early spring, we have the opportunity to watch parent geese caring for their goslings along the canal. Our woodland wilderness area also offers a disc golf course, providing students with a unique and exciting way to explore and interact with nature.
Watersports
Kayaking Canoeing Bell Boats As a British Canoeing centre we can get you on the water in Canoe's, Kayaks or Bell Boats for anything from a fun starter session to a more advanced British Canoeing Paddle award. why not complete your Duke of Edinburgh award expedition by canoe?
We provide all the necessary equipment, including paddles, buoyancy aids, and helmets, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
Our experienced instructors offer expert guidance and instruction for paddlers of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced.
Our location provides access to our Canal Basin and the Grand Union Canal so beginners have a safe environment to start and can then progress onto the canal.
Paddling is a great way to stay active and healthy, while also enjoying the beauty of nature and the outdoors.
Canoeing and kayaking are also great activities for team-building and group events, promoting communication and cooperation among participants.
Our British Canoeing Paddle awards provide a structured approach to learning and advancing paddling skills, ensuring that participants can progress at their own pace.

What size groups do you cater for?
Our Residential centre sleeps MAX 26 but we can accommodate many more for a day visit with activities.
Do you offer on-site classroom facilities?
We have a number of rooms available that can be used as classroom, meeting spaces and indoor eating areas.
Is there first aid on site?
All of our Instructing staff have a relevant first aid qualification, we also have 2 defibrillators on site.
Do you offer access for visitors with disabilities?
Yes we have recently been improving our offering for Disabled groups we now have 2 Wheelchairs specifically for either wheelchair Abseiling or getting around the site, we can also offer Archery and depending on the disability of the student, Bellboating is very popular. The residential centre has a lift for disabled access.
Do you cater for visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
We have also been working with more Special Educational needs groups or individuals and love to tailor our activities to make them work. We currently have a number of SEN schools who visit us on a weekly basis for their PE lessons. Spending time outdoors can have numerous benefits for students with special educational needs.
