All of our workshops are available online and can be live streamed into classrooms, halls and homes. COVID related cancellations are available at short notice as long as workshops can be rescheduled for later in the year.
We believe that schools should have ready access to drama in order to support learning. The Drama Hut was created in order to provide a service that teachers could access, to help bring the curriculum to life. Through drama, children are able to experience a subject, complementing and enhancing their learning in the classroom.
“Thank you very much for delivering such a fantastic drama session which enabled the children to develop their understanding and enthusiasm for Ancient Egypt. You took us all on a very exciting journey to learn about many aspects of Ancient Egyptian history and did so in a truly creative and imaginative way”.
Marie Hedges Head of Year 3 Orleans Primary School
All our team are professional actors, trained both in facilitation and performance. They have experience working with children of all ages and share a common passion through learning through drama. All facilitators are DBS checked and implement The Drama Hut CPP (Child Protection Policy).
With over two hundred schools visited, we are passionate about the impact that drama within schools, can have on children’s education.
With the help of the Goddess Isis, during our Egyptian workshop, the children will help to unravel the secrets hidden in an ancient Egyptian scroll and discover how a Pharaoh would journey to the afterlife.
We offer a wide range of topics to choose from as well as bespoke workshops following consultation with schools. These include: Ancient Greeks, Mayans, Anglo Saxon and Viking, Stone Age, Victorians, Tudors, Florence Nightingale, Great Fire of London, Romans, WW1 and WW2
We can work with up to 30 children at any one time for a minimum of 60 minutes. We offer special day rates for multiple classes and can deliver two different topics to different year groups on the same day to help manage costs for schools.
"Every drama activity was carefully planned and chosen to teach the children new information about the Egyptians. Anna engaged the children and the children really responded well to her approach. At point I left the room for 5 minutes and came back to everyone singing, chanting and doing actions to a song they had just learned using all the names of the Egyptian Gods, which was great to see! Thank you!"
Year 3 teacher Welsh House Farm Community School
"Lillie was so professional and truly captured each child’s interest. Even the ‘too cool’ kids we’re fully engaged and enjoyed every second. The content was fantastic to begin out topic and the children have remembered a lot and applied it to their further learning. All of the children have wrote a letter to express their enjoyment and appreciation for their workshop. I would fully recommend! Thank you"
Nicola, Year 4/5 St Joseph's, Malmesbury
"The energy of our lead was fantastic- she kept up high energy levels across the groups, being able to motivate and move on the children quickly. The children were able to retain the information they were taught and we were impressed with our knowledge. "
