During this workshop our actor will take on the role of Mary Seacole, to both remember and explore her life and work specifically during her time as a nurse during the Crimean War.
As an important historical figure, Mary Seacole is portrayed by a professional actor, to help children both remember and explore her life and work. We will create a time line to place Mary Seacole firmly within a historical time frame and shall also cover the prejudice that existed during this time and explore the importance of her work in context with black history.

★★★★★
"The workshop was great, exactly what we wanted to round off our topic. Even though the workshop was via zoom Amelia managed to keep the children engaged throughout and they haven't stopped talking about it. The workshop addressed important issues at an age appropriate level and the children learned so much about Mary Seacole and life at this time."
