Celebrate this momentous occasion where the children will discover facts about King Charles III and his ascension to the throne following the death of our beloved Queen Elizabeth II. As well as performing a coronation of their own, the children will get to place King Charles in a timeline amongst other important monarchs and explore what each brought to their reign, helping to shape the world we live in today. This workshop also ties in well with any scope of work looking at British Values as we celebrate all things British!
What activities are available during this educational workshop?
Our workshops include tailored, fully interactive, drama games, role play, teamwork exercises, songs, movement and more, led by a professional costumed actor.
Which Curriculum Subjects do you cater for?
Curriculum topics available: Monarchy, British Values.
This experience ties in well with our British Values workshop exploring all things British!We create a timeline of important monarchs and act out the roles they have played in history. Starting with William the Conqueror and including the Tudors, Elizabethans and Victorians, finishing with our longest reigning monarch Queen Elizabeth II and the forthcoming Coronation of King Charles III
What size groups do you cater for?
We typically run 60-120 minute workshops with up to 30 children at any one time and can offer special day rates for multiple classes. We are also able to provide two different topics on the same day for different year groups,
How does safeguarding work for online workshops?
Online sessions are jointly hosted by the teacher and our actor and may or may not be recorded, depending on the preference of the school. Ideally workshops take place in a school hall with a large screen, however, they can also work extremely well in a classroom, with desks pushed aside. Our Risk Assessment document is available upon request and is updated regularly to comply with all current advice and guidelines.
What technology/devices/type of internet connection do schools need for an online workshop?
Online workshops are delivered live by professional actors and typically last 60-75 minutes each. They are structured in the same way as an on-site visit and have the advantage of utilising the benefits of technology – in particular, virtual backgrounds, enabling actors to transport children back in time, to any era or location. School will require a good internet connection and ideally a large screen to project our actor on to, so all the children have good visibility.
Do you offer access for visitors with disabilities?
Yes - the very nature of our workshops being so visual and experiential, has led to extremely positive feedback from teachers.
Do you cater for visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
Yes - children with special educational needs really benefit and enjoy our workshops.

Who are The Drama Hut?
We employ the skills of costumed actors who use the Performing Arts, to help children truly experience a subject, complementing and enhancing learning in the classroom. Through improvisation, role play, movement and song, we help to bring the curriculum to life. Whether online or on-site, our workshops are delivered live and are fully interactive. Prices start at £120 for a single workshop, with discounts available when multiple sessions/different topics are booked.
