Drop Down Day Ideas
Enrichment and Discovery through off timetable learning
Leave the timetable behind for a day and give your class a unique experience
Drop down days, Enrichment, Discovery days, Deep learning days, Collpased timetable days, Activity days, whatever your school calls them, you probably offer these experiences anything from once a year, to every term or half term. Following feedback from teachers, we have a huge range of educational ideas for bringing practical activities into your school to enhance and broaden your students' learning experience.
One of the big advantages of bringing an external provider into your school to deliver one of these special days is their experience. Not just experience of whatever subject or topic they are experts in, but their experience in delivering these sessions to groups of students; knowing how to keep them engaged for a full day on a single subject.
Drop down days are designed to benefit students in a variety of ways. Building on previous learning, while giving them skills and experiences they may be missing from the every day lessons they receive during the school day. Ideas for drop down days include PHSE subjects such as mental health or physical well-being and first aid, themed problem solving activities, or perhaps a STEAM focus such as exploring robotics or VR applications. Have a look at the options on this page, or fill out the short form and let us know what you want to achieve from your drop down day.
