School Workshops Options: With changing guidelines from government, The Drama Hut are committed to supporting schools through this challenging time and will not charge for any sessions that need to be postponed due to COVID19 even if we get the call the night before! In addition, all of our workshops are now available online as well as onsite, giving you complete flexibility on how sessions are delivered. Our online option is live and interactive viewed ideally on a large screen in a classroom or school hall and also allows any children to log in to from home, if having to self isolate. Please do contact us on info@thedramahut.com for further information. At The Drama Hut, we believe that schools should have ready access to affordable drama workshops in order to support learning. The Drama Hut was created in order to provide a service that teachers could access, to help bring the curriculum to life. Through drama, children are able to experience a subject, complementing and enhancing their learning in the classroom.
All our team are professional actors, trained both in facilitation and performance. They have experience working with children of all ages and share a common passion for learning through drama. All facilitators are DBS checked and implement The Drama Hut CPP (Child Protection Policy). Curriculum topics available: Stone Age. Travel back in time with our professional actor who takes on the role of enthusiastic archaeologist Sally Spade, in order to explore this fascinating prehistoric period, discovering how it developed from the chaotic to the domestic. During the session, the children will create a timeline in order to get a sense of the start, middle and end of this period. In pairs they will explore and vocalise how stone age people may have communicated with one another. Through a Stone Age ‘Dragons Den’, they will explore what would have been a useful invention of the time and through guided improvisation and poetry, the children will imagine life in a stone age settlement. We can work with up to 30 children at any one time for a minimum of 60 minutes. We offer special day rates for multiple classes and can deliver different topics to different year groups on the same day, helping to manage tight school budgets. Yes, with the assistance of staff on-site where. “We have used The Drama Hut on several occasions to help enrich and inspire the children’s experience of the curriculum. All facilitators have been well prepared and able to use their dramatic skills to deliver well-pitched and interesting workshops. Children are always excited after the session and are able to speak confidently about what they have learnt.” Educational Resources Available.. Online Workshop Available!
