Future Business Leaders
Students develop real-world business, enterprise and leadership skills through practical, project-based lessons at English Study Camps. The course introduces key business concepts including marketing, entrepreneurship, finance, budgets, brand, customer service, markets, innovation and profit.
Working in groups, students explore how businesses create products and services, understand customers, build a brand and communicate their ideas effectively. Activities may include mini enterprise projects, market research, business planning, project management tasks, pitch presentations, interview-style activities and creative problem-solving challenges. Students also develop transferable skills linked to communication, teamwork, leadership and presentation, helping them gain a valuable insight into different industries and the world of business as part of their Duke of Edinburgh's Award Gold Residential programme.
Coding and Using AI Creatively
Students develop practical computing, programming, coding and creative AI skills through hands-on, project-based sessions at English Study Camps. The programme introduces key digital skills including code, algorithms, computational thinking, problem-solving, creativity and using computers to develop simple digital projects.
Students may choose Coding or Using AI Creatively as part of their Plus Course options. Activities may include beginner-friendly coding tasks, Scratch or Python-style challenges, game design concepts, debugging, sequencing, variables, and creative digital problem-solving. In Using AI Creatively, students explore how artificial intelligence can support ideas, content creation, design, storytelling and innovation, helping them use technology confidently, responsibly and imaginatively as part of their Duke of Edinburgh's Award Gold Residential programme.
Forest Skills and Bushcraft
Students develop practical outdoor skills through hands-on forest skills and bushcraft activities on the beautiful Lord Wandsworth College campus. Sessions may include den building, creating shelters, navigation, outdoor survival challenges, woodland teamwork tasks and supervised campfire-style activities designed to build confidence and resilience.
Students will learn how to work safely in an outdoor environment, use natural materials, solve problems as a team and connect with the woodland setting around them. Activities may also introduce age-appropriate elements of fire-lighting, camp cooking, camouflage, wilderness awareness, basic foraging principles and survival skills, all delivered in a safe, structured and supervised way as part of their Duke of Edinburgh's Award Gold Residential programme.
Cultural Education
Students become part of a truly international English Study Camps community, learning alongside young people from a wide range of countries and cultures. Last year, our student mix included learners from Japan, wider Asia, Europe, Latin America, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and other regions, creating a rich, multicultural residential experience.
Through lessons, activities, evening events and shared residential life, students develop cultural awareness, communication skills and confidence working with people from different backgrounds. They practise English in a natural international setting, exchange ideas, share perspectives and build friendships beyond their usual school or local community. This makes the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Gold Residential not only a chance to complete an important section of the Award, but also a valuable cultural education experience.
English Study Camps is part of Wimbledon School of English, founded in 1964, and we are the No.1 English language school in the UK.
