As well as offering a wide variety of fun and inclusive challenges, New Forest Activities can provide students with lots of opportunities to learn skills, realise their own limits and how to support those with different limits. This could be anything from problem-solving or simply knowing how to tie a knot. They can tailor their activities to meet your aims and the desired learning outcomes for your group. Not sure about heights or water? Sometimes the idea of being at height or around water can create anxiety for some, but New Forest Activities have plenty of tricks up their sleeve to make sure that they can adapt roles, sessions and groups so people can work at their own levels, yet be stretched just a little more when they’re ready! It’s very much challenge by choice!
New Forest Activities' experiences are not readily available within most school environments. Physical education isn't just limited to standard school sports activities. Outdoor activities have often been credited with sparking interest and inspiring children who don't see themselves as sporty; to try more, do more and achieve physically. With all the same learning outcomes of regular sports, outdoor activities are a leveller regardless of academic or physical ability.
Activities will always be delivered with the right mix of action and holistic reflection at New Forest Activities. Their educational matrix illustrates an activity's ability to link to learning outcomes such as applying and developing physical education and building on PHSE outcomes such as challenge, adventure, creativity, shared learning, social learning and environmental awareness, utilising NOLA (National Outdoor Learning Award).
There's an abundance of wildlife within the beautiful New Forest National Park and New Forest Activities are well-placed amongst it all. Opportunities for investigation of the river, woodland, heathland and coastal habitats are available on-site or within 10-minute transfers. These are facilitated through small group team activities with individual challenges.
Bushcraft and camp skills with New Forest Activities are all about learning to be equipped and comfortable outdoors in an interesting and hands-on way. This could be anything from building shelters and fire lighting, to foraging and tracking. Choose to prepare meals or cook lunch over the fire you’ve just built. Highlighting shared learning, environmental awareness and skills development.
Located on the banks of the tidal Beaulieu River and set within a tranquil nature reserve, New Forest Activities' Canoeing and Kayaking bases offer up wonderful locations to explore. Head up or downstream, explore and learn about the river’s rich history or explore the creeks learning how the river has formed. All of their Canoeing and Kayaking sessions are expertly guided by their knowledgeable activity instructors. Groups are taught the fundamental paddling techniques needed to successfully navigate the river as well as learning about the wildlife that calls the Beaulieu River Nature Reserve home. Sessions can be biased for fun and skills development working towards the BC Paddle Start award. Not sure about water? Sometimes the idea of being on the water can create anxiety for some, but New Forest Activities have plenty of tricks up their sleeve to make sure that they can adapt craft, sessions and groups so people can work at their own levels inside a comfort zone, yet be stretched just a little more.
With a broad range of environments including heathland, river, coastal and natural woodland available to your KS2 to KS4 group, New Forest Activities can tailor your activity to provide curriculum outcomes. Activities can be built around learning outcomes either onsite or located in local wild environments. Programmes are available on request and designed to suit your individual needs.
Schools can learn about the the environment and nature around them with New Forest Activities residential programmes in the heart of The New Forest. This could be anything from foraging for materials from the ground to firelighting to keep warm. New Forest Activities embrace the understanding that not all children get a chance to get into nature and we are introducing these forest skills for the first time to them as part of their learning. It really is a unique experience for children on our secluded private sites in The New Forest.
Yes. Their sessions can be adapted for physical, emotional and special educational needs and they have experience providing a number of local care and youth facilities with repeat activity programmes.
Born in 2003 out of Sam and Rich's passion for water sports, New Forest Activities is now the largest provider of outdoor activities within the New Forest National Park.
Their passion and years of experience organising school trips and youth group projects allow them to offer unique and fulfilling activities that will aid both children’s educational and personal development. Their 5* TripAdvisor reviews and accreditations are proof they do a good job too!

You can choose from any single activity or a full day in the great outdoors, for your KS2 to KS4 group. Activities can be tailored to provide curriculum outcomes, or can just be filled with fun!
