In this exciting science workshop, students explore some of the most fascinating ideas in science through practical, hands-on activities. Designed to make science engaging and accessible, the workshop introduces students to the building blocks of our universe, the forces that shape it, and the science behind life.Students will explore topics including atoms, anatomy, dissection, gravity and stars, chemistry experiments, and interactive activities, all to investigate how the world around them works. They'll discover what everything is made of, why objects fall, how stars form and change, and explore biology through activities that can be tailored to the group.
The session is designed to encourage curiosity, questioning and problem-solving, giving students plenty of opportunities to make predictions, test ideas and discover the answers for themselves. Teachers choose this workshop because it combines meaningful STEM learning with an experience students genuinely enjoy. Across the session, students explore a range of exciting scientific ideas through engaging activities, experiments and challenges, leaving them with a deeper understanding of the world around them and plenty of questions to take away. Suitable for ages 9+.
What activities are available during educational visits?
45 minutes of educational VR followed by 15 minutes of gaming.

At VRXtra Kingston, we are committed to making our science experiences accessible, engaging and inclusive for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Our activities are flexible and can be adapted to suit individual learning styles, confidence levels and sensory needs. Students can explore exciting areas of science including biology, chemistry and physics through practical, hands-on activities in a supportive environment. We offer small group sessions to minimise noise and distractions, flexible activities, and patient, supportive staff who can provide one-to-one guidance where needed. Students can also access calm spaces for breaks or decompression, helping them feel comfortable and supported throughout their visit. Our aim is for every student to feel included, build confidence and enjoy discovering science in a way that works for them.

Teacher Ratios: We would recommend 1 teach per 6 students, up to a maximum of 2 teachers. 1 teacher must stay with the students in the VR centre at all times.
Lunch Facilities: Located in the Bentall Centre, we are surrounded by food options. If you require a space for packed lunches, please discuss this with us during your pre-visit call.
