We are passionate about making great theatre accessible for all children from all walks of life. We therefore produce shows designed to captivate children using engaging scenery and soundscapes, turning your hall into a theatre.
Our productions:
* Encourage performance skills: Students experience live theatre, developing an understanding of staging, character development and storytelling.
* Promote Creative Expression: Interactive elements allow students to participate, including an element of improvisation
* Enhance Understanding of Theatrical Techniques: Shows incorporate movement, voicework and staging methods
* Support Analysis and Evaluation: Post-performance discussions help students critique performances, improving their ability to analyse live theatre.
* Connect to Cross-Curricular Themes: Productions often integrate PSHE, literacy, and history, supporting drama as a tool for learning beyond the arts.
We provide high-quality, interactive theatre experiences that develop students’ creative, technical, and analytical skills. Our performances support learning by:
* Enhancing Acting and Performance Skills: Students observe professional techniques, including voice work, physicality, and stage presence.
* Encouraging Creative Expression: Interactive elements allow students to engage with storytelling, improvisation, and character development.
* Teaching Theatrical Techniques: Productions demonstrate stagecraft, including lighting, sound, set design, and costume, providing insight into technical theatre.
* Developing Analytical and Reflective Skills: Post-show discussions encourage students to critique performances, analyse themes, and reflect on artistic choices by both performer and director.
* Supporting Collaboration and Communication: Workshops and interactive performances foster teamwork, problem-solving, and confidence in performance settings.
By combining live theatre with educational engagement, Shooting Star Entertainments helps students develop key skills in acting, production, and analysis, enriching their experience of the Performing Arts curriculum.
Our interactive performances engage pupils in storytelling, perfect for deepening their understanding of key topics such as the Feather of Truth, Egyptian Deities, and the importance of the Nile. This performance ties directly to KS2 learning objectives, blending education with unforgettable experiences.
The Curse of the Mummy covers:
* Learning about The River Nile and its impact of agriculture
* Exploring the role of pharaohs as rulers
* Learning about key religious beliefs, including the roles of Egyptian gods and the concept of the Feather of Truth
* Learning about mummification practices
We offer Relaxed Introductions, Touch Tours, Social Stories and Makaton. While we aren't able to provide BSL translations for our performances, we are happy to provide a copy of our script in advance so that should you have an onsite BSL translator you would like to use, they are able to familiarise themselves with our material before the show.
We specialise in creating unforgettable Touring Pantos and Theatre in Education experiences that spark imagination and encourage participation.
Our original scripts are thoughtfully crafted for EYFS, KS1 and KS2, ensuring every show is educational, engaging and fun.
At the heart of what we do is accessibility. With our commitment to 'Making Great Theatre Accessible to Everyone', we're proud to champion inclusive experiences for all. Our team is Makaton-aware, with our Core Performer Team Level 2 Makaton trained, and we actively collaborate with organisations like the NHS to deliver impactful productions. We are also a registered Arts Award Supporter.
From inclusive storytelling to interactive performances, we're dedicated to ensuring every child has the opportunity to experience the joy of live theatre.
We are revolutionising the way Theatre in Education is accessed for schools with our Starlight Pass, giving more value for money than ever before with exclusive access to our online classroom resources like Behind the Scenes videos, Lesson Plans and worksheets so you can make the most out of every performance.
