We showcase the reality of Dinosaurs and authenticity of Biological Evolution, using engaging presenters and modern 360° projection technology. Students and teachers will be left with vivid and lasting memories to motivate classroom learning.
'Dinosaurs at Dusk' - With numerous examples of dinosaurs gradually turning into birds, the science content in the film includes continental drift, extinctions, and the convergent development of flight among different species. This leads to the presenter-led component, with the audience experiencing a 360° 'time funnel' leading from the Cambrian to the present day - vividly depicting continental drift, and the evolution & extinction of countless species of plants and animals along the way.
'Natural Selection' - Not only do students get to sail on the HMS Beagle to the Galapagos Islands; visit Charles Darwin in his study; walk amongst giant tortoises and iguana lizards; but also get to dive into a breathtaking coral reef. Darwin himself elucidates the concept of natural selection, reinforcing it by showcasing a multitude of exquisite instances found in nature.
The film is followed by a presenter-led, interactive component, where pupils learn about genetic throwbacks and the evidence of evolution all around us. They see lizards in the process of turning into snakes; how the dog is losing its 'thumb'; and how humans are growing taller. They discover that all animals (including humans) have the exact same complement of bones in their bodies - yet modified and adapted (sometimes greatly) to suit their way of life.
Includes a comprehensive Education Guide for teachers
Racing against time with the main characters of 'Dinosaurs at Dusk', pupils paraglide in 360° through ancient skies with the majestic Quetzalcoatlus, flee from speedy raptors, and traverse deserts with the gigantic Argentinosaurus. They walk through rain forests, climb ice cliffs, sail over primordial seas and parachute into a huge sinkhole in their search for the first flying birds. When time runs out they even experience first-hand the cataclysmic ‘final day' of the dinosaurs.
Includes an Apatosaurus Crossword and Create-a-Saurus activity.
