A school residential or day trip at Oaker Wood gives children the chance to connect with nature while developing valuable life skills. Our Multi-Activity Days and overnight camps fulfil the PE National Curriculum target of Outdoor and Adventurous Activity Challenges. By taking part in a broad range of physical activities children can try something new, we hope to encourage them to lead healthier and more active lives.

Is Oaker Wood open all year round?
Yes! Our overnight camps are available from February to November, with some great offers available for off peaks months such as February, October and November. We can offer days trips throughout the whole year, a woodland activity on a winter's day, can be just as fun as it would be during the summer. Some of our activities such as rafting are only available during the summer months for obvious reasons!
What might our visit to Oaker Wood involve?
During a visit to Oaker Wood school children will be able to unleash their adventurous spirit with activities like Paintball, High Ropes, Low Ropes Assault Course, Target Shooting, Woodland Krypton, Woodland Navigation, Rafting, and more. Activities can be tailored to children's needs to make sure that every person enjoys their visit as much as possible.
What are the benefits of a trip to Oaker Wood?
We find that taking part in outdoor activities will help to improve teamwork and problem-solving skills. Staff at this family-run business ensure children have an enriching experience during their visit.
Is there anything new on offer at Oaker Wood?
Our newest activity Woodland Navigation is proving popular with primary school children, this woodland navigation trail is themed around orienteering where children will use a map to navigate around a woodland trail, featuring pictures and information about woodland animals.
Is there anything specific available for SEN children?
At Oaker Wood we make every effort to tailor activities to the needs of children with Special Educational Needs where required. We have plenty of experience in this area, as we already welcome many local specialist schools to the wood for activity days with great success.
