School Maths Trip School Trips

PlanMySchoolTrip

trip icon Switzerland - The physics lab at CERN is one of the most popular maths and science destinations in Europe, with schools eager to see and learn about the incredible discoveries already made here, as well as projects in progress. If there is anywhere guaranteed to give your school class an appetite for mathematics and numbers, this is surely the place.

Florence - During the Renaissance, the Italian city of Florence was centre of the world for cultural and mathematical thinking. The Medici family were bankers and politicians but they also supported the work of mathematicians like Galileo Galilei. The Museo Galileo is a hugely inspiring place for any overseas school maths trip.

Frankfurt - The interactive exhibits at the Mathematikum - a museum dedicated to maths, offer your students the chance to gain a real understanding of the subject. Other attractions in this city include the stock exchange and banking sector, places that make Frankfurt an important financial centre for Germany and a great place to see maths in action.

Example Itineraries for our 2026 trips

On the first day your group could start their journey in Brussels, Belgium, where they can visit the Museum of Mathematics (Mathematikum), that has exhibits that demonstrate mathematical concepts in a fun and engaging way. After exploring the museum, students can take a walk through the Grand Place or visit the Royal Observatory of Belgium to take a look at the maths used in astronomy.

On the second day the group could travel to the historic city of Lille in northern France. Explore the Palais Rihour and the surrounding old town. A maths themed workshop could be arranged. In the afternoon, a visit to the Lille Metropole Museum of Modern, Contemporary and Outsider Art could further inspire students by examining how artists incorporate mathematical concepts such as fractals and symmetry into their work.

For the final day the group could venture to the city of Bruges in Belgium, famous for its medieval architecture and canals, (and chocolate!) Students can take a mathematical tour of the city. To conclude the trip, a visit to a local university or research institute in applied mathematics could provide students with an inspiring look at current mathematical research and potential future careers in STEM fields.

What size groups do we cater for?
