English Our workshops support the English curriculum by enhancing literacy, communication, and creative writing skills through rap and lyric writing, spoken word, and drama activities. Students develop vocabulary, storytelling, confidence in speaking, and the ability to express ideas clearly and creatively.
Dance Our workshops support the Dance curriculum by engaging pupils in expressive movement through breakdancing and circus-based physical theatre. Students develop coordination, rhythm, physical confidence, and creativity while exploring choreography, performance, and team-based movement activities. These sessions encourage self-expression, physical literacy, and an appreciation of dance as a cultural and artistic form.
Music Our workshops align with the Music curriculum by teaching rhythm, vocal techniques, and creative composition through beatboxing, rap, and lyric writing. Students develop listening skills, musicality, and self-expression while exploring contemporary music styles, performance, and songwriting in an interactive, hands-on environment.
Cultural Education Our music, drama, and performance workshops support the Cultural Education curriculum by exposing pupils to diverse art forms, creative expression, and cultural practices. From hip-hop elements like rap and breakdancing to circus and spoken word, students explore global influences, gain cultural awareness, and develop respect for different traditions—all while building confidence, creativity, and collaboration skills.
Citizenship Our workshops support the Citizenship curriculum by fostering teamwork, respect, and self-confidence. Through collaborative activities like drama, group performances, and creative projects, students learn about social responsibility, cultural diversity, and positive community engagement, helping them become active, empathetic citizens.
At Street Style Surgery, we are proud to have over 20 years of experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Our workshops are designed to be inclusive, accessible, and empowering. We believe every young person should have the opportunity to express themselves, build confidence, and develop new skills in a supportive environment.
We are skilled in working with young people who may face challenges with communication, mobility, sensory processing, or behavioural needs, and we tailor our delivery to suit those requirements with sensitivity and care.
Our sessions often provide an alternative way for SEN pupils to connect with others, regulate emotions, and find joy in creative expression. Many of our past participants have flourished in these workshops finding success and pride in their creations, performances, and contributions.
Whether it's the calm focus of painting a canvas, the rhythm and structure of lyric writing, or the freedom of movement in dance, each activity offers meaningful opportunities for personal growth.
