What activities are available during this educational workshop?

In this Moon Landing workshop, your class will have the opportunity to express ideas and feelings through voice, movement, role play and drama. In addition, they will:

✨ Examine the historical context of the Apollo 11 mission to the moon and what set it into motion
✨ Discover Neil Armstrong’s background and how he became an astronaut
✨ Investigate the methods used for exploration in space

Twentieth Century Workshop

In 1962, U.S. President John F. Kennedy set a goal of putting man on the moon before the decade was out. A huge undertaking, we’re sure you’ll agree? Pressure was mounting because the Soviet Union also wanted to be the first country to set foot on the moon. Pupils will learn about this period of fierce competition in the twentieth century, also known as the 'Space Race'.

Significant Individuals from History Workshop

Your pupils will discover Neil Armstrong's background and how he became an astronaut. The U.S. wanted to make sure they found a brave, talented explorer to become the 'first man on the moon'! Find out why this significant individual fit the criteria and how he prepared for this incredible venture.

What size groups do you cater for?

We can deliver workshops to up to 4 classes in a school day, depending on the type of workshop and age group of the classes involved. Each session caters for a maximum of 35 children.

Do you cater for visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

Absolutely! Drama is a wonderfully inclusive way for children with SEN to access learning. Please let us know of any specific needs or requirements before your day and we can adapt our sessions to fit.
