Whitehough Outdoor Centre is committed to providing inclusive, nurturing experiences for children with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Our experienced staff create a supportive environment tailored to meet individual needs, promoting confidence, independence, and personal growth through outdoor learning.
We have worked with children on the Autistic Spectrum, those with Emotional and Behavioural Disorders, General Learning Difficulties, as well as Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, and Dyspraxia. Our activities are designed to be adaptable and accessible, encouraging participation and success at every level.
Social development is a key focus at Whitehough. Our structured group activities help children build communication skills, develop friendships, and grow their self-esteem in a natural and encouraging setting.
We are proud to have partnered with specialist schools, including The Grow School, who have consistently found Whitehough to be the ideal environment for their pupils to thrive both emotionally and educationally.
Due to the nature of the terrain the site is not fully accessible for wheelchair users. Please talk to us about the needs of your group.
