RobotFun
Coding is an important part of the curriculum. Programming a virtual robot, where you can see something respond immediately to your commands, is a great way to learn to code. These sessions use a virtual robotics platform that is new to the UK. As well as programming, the platform offers students an opportunity to program robots competitively against teams that are all over the world. The programming tasks in the workshop often require a bit of maths to work out distances and angles for controlling the robot. All the tasks are programmed, not remote controlled. So if you get the calculations wrong you might see the robot fall off the edge of the world!
These workshops use their own hosted virtual reality platform for coding and for competition.
The virtual robots used in these sessions are programmable either in Scratch or Python. Both of these languages are established parts of the UK national curriculum.
Dependent on the abilities of SEN children they may be able to take part in these workshops.
