Walesby Forest to launch new Educational Educational Recycling Initiative on Global Recycling Day

The newly introduced programme will engage visitors of all ages, with a special emphasis on teaching young people the significance of recycling and the impact it has on protecting the planet. By leveraging the natural environment of Walesby Forest, the initiative seeks to inspire visitors to adopt sustainable practices and contribute to a greener future.
Nigel Duffin, Works Manager at Walesby Forest, commented on the partnership:
“This is a great opportunity to teach the next generation the importance of recycling. We’re proud to do our part in educating young people and ensuring they understand how vital it is to protect our world for future generations.”
“By working with Enva, we can feel reassured that we know where our waste is going and how it is managed. It is important to us that we aren’t contributing to landfill sites. Everything that can be recycled at Walesby Forest is.”
The programme aligns with Walesby Forest’s commitment to sustainability and its ongoing efforts to foster environmental stewardship within the community.
Enva’s Head of Regional Sales, Kirsty Woodward, commented: “We are delighted to partner with Walesby Forest and support the charity Recycling Ollerton and Boughton. In addition to providing compliant on-site waste management in conjunction with the new Simpler Recycling 2025 legislation, our experienced engagement team will support Train the Trainer sessions to facilitate lesson-based toolbox talks to the many thousands of visitors who visit Walesby Forest.
“This new educational recycling initiative will play an important role in helping visitors understand the importance of recycling and how their actions can help us create a more sustainable planet.”
Recycling Ollerton and Boughton’s CEO, Neil Pike stated, “ROB are really proud of the relationship that has been built with Walesby Forest over the past 15 years and are excited to see that the mission to recycle has taken a big step forward and is being embraced by both Walesby Forest and Enva. We look forward to seeing increasing quantities of recyclables being collected each week.”
The initiative is due to start from April 2025.
