We all know the importance of outdoor learning for young people and how it offers unparalleled benefits when it comes to physical and mental benefits including personal, social and educational development and young people’s wellbeing. As a quality-assured Learning Outside the Classroom provider, we offer day trips and residentials with a wide variety of inclusive programmes and accommodation options that suit everyone's needs. The outdoor space in which learning occurs is an integral part of the learning process.

Our comfortable all-weather accommodation isn’t just limited to tents - you can stay in our grade 1 listed house that offers dormitory-style rooms for groups of 20-110 across 3 different key-coded wings. We provide separate teacher rooms with a TV and tea and coffee-making facilities. Our forest lodges are ideal for smaller groups or those wanting a little more independence, sleeping up to 64 people across our 6, 12 and 14-berth lodges. No matter the weather - you know that you and your students will be able to get a good night's sleep after a busy day of adventuring outdoors (for a fraction of the cost of a summer residential).

Having a residential in the off-peak months means all your students need to do is dress appropriately for the weather and come with a can-do attitude. With over 30 different outdoor activities that are linked to the national curriculum, we work closely with you to develop a programme that achieves your learning objectives. Plus, you need not worry about limited activities during the autumn and winter, our student favourites; climbing, tree top trail and the zip wire are all open and ready to be enjoyed! Fuelling up after a long day outdoors is important, our catering options include hot-cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Our chefs can provide a varied menu providing great quality food and catering to most dietary requirements. The best part is that this can be enjoyed as part of our package deals, which have off-peak discounts available, so your student's activities, accommodation and catering are all taken care of!

A typical two-night residential at Avon Tyrrell includes warm accommodation (with bed linen provided), all your meals provided with fresh ingredients (from dinner on your day of arrival to breakfast on departure day) up to 8 activities led by our inclusive fully qualified instructor team.
