Green Up Your Act delivers curriculum-linked sustainability and environmental education workshops for EYFS, Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Our practical, hands-on sessions bring classroom learning to life, giving pupils the opportunity to see, touch, create, investigate and experience environmental topics for themselves. Activities are adapted to suit the age, ability and learning needs of each group, making them ideal for school enrichment, science workshops, Eco-Schools activities and sustainability events.

Science: Our workshops support learning about plants, materials, living things, habitats, food chains, ecosystems, biodiversity and environmental change. Pupils can investigate how plants grow, explore the properties and uses of materials, discover the importance of insects and habitats, and consider how human activity affects the natural world.

Geography: Pupils explore human impact, natural resources, food production, oceans, land use, environmental change and sustainability. Workshops connect classroom learning with real-world environmental issues, encouraging pupils to think about where resources and food come from, how our choices affect the planet and what we can do to make more sustainable choices.

Design & Technology: Our practical workshops support pupils to design, select materials, make and evaluate. Recycled Notebooks and Materials & Their Properties provide opportunities to investigate different materials, understand why materials are suitable for particular purposes and explore reuse, recycling and sustainable design.

PSHE & Citizenship: Sustainability is also about responsibility and the choices we make. Workshops encourage pupils to consider personal responsibility, communities, environmental action and the impact individuals can have. Pupils learn that small changes can make a positive difference.

Food & Nutrition: Our Farm to Fork / Microgreens workshop explores where food comes from, how plants are grown, seasonal food, food production, food miles, packaging, healthy choices and reducing waste. Pupils grow their own microgreens, creating a memorable connection between plants, food and sustainability.

Art & Design: Creative activities encourage pupils to experiment with materials, develop ideas, design and make. Working with recycled, natural and everyday materials shows pupils how items that might otherwise become waste can be transformed into something useful and creative.

Eco-Schools & Sustainability: Green Up Your Act workshops can support schools working towards their Eco-Schools priorities and wider sustainability goals. Pupils gain practical experience of environmental issues, explore solutions and consider positive actions they can take at school and at home.
