Home / Trips Abroad / Sorrento and the Bay of Naples
We have put COVID 19 measures in place for the health and safety of our groups and are also offering increased flexibility for deposits, cancellations and postponements. Check out our website for more details.
Inspired Travel offers subject study tours to Sorrento and The Bay of Naples that are planned meticulously in conjunction with group leaders to fulfil the National Curriculum emphasis required.
Our subject tours:
Geography students can enjoy a visit to the Sorrento Peninsula where its possible to undertake a combination of both Human and Physical Geography studies: coastal landforms, beach studies, Campei Flegre, volcanoes and hazard management, tourism, landuse, farm visit etc and intersperse it with local visits.
For History and Classics students the Sorrento Peninsula provides the opportunity to visit Pompeii and Herculaneum, Pozzuoli, Vesuvius and Capri.
The Sorrento Peninsula is also a perfect destination for a cross-curricular tour.
No matter which subject is the focus of your tour, an educational visit to Italy will bring alive the classroom based studies in the UK.
Whether it is the confidence that comes with an immersion in the culture, the understanding of hazard management for a densely populated area or the impact of the destructive eruption of AD79, Italy will inspire your students.
All tours are tailored to the requirements and preferences of the group leader to provide the emphasis required to support classroom learning.
All of our tours are tried, tested and tweaked in order to provide the best experience possible.
Our accommodation is of a high standard; 3* and 4* hotels in locations that are accessible to all elements of the chosen itinerary.
The opportunities are varied and the combination endless. Listed below is a typical itinerary that intersperses Geography and History with local visits.
Day 1. Arrive in Naples. Possible visit to Naples Archaeological Museum before a private coach transfer to the hotel.
Day 2. A morning visit to Vesuvius and the Observatory Museum followed by an afternoon guided visit to Pompeii. Visit a local cameo maker.
Evening meal at a local Trattoria for Pizza and gelato.
Day 3. Amalfi Drive. Travel along the stunning UNESCO World Heritage coast to Amalfi and enjoy some free time. Return to Sorrento and visit a local farm to see how olive oil is traditionally produced and the making of mozzarella cheese.

Why not consider combining the trip with a visit to, and return flight, from Rome?
Our itineraries are entirely flexible and will be designed following close consultation with the group leader.
