Our workshops are a great way of bringing the curriculum to life without the hassle of organising a school trip!
During the World of Volcanoes workshop, your children will learn all about:
- The different key terms associated with volcanoes
- The different stages that volcanoes go through
- The different types of volcanoes on our planet
- Some of our planet's most famous volcanoes (including the Yellowstone Supervolcano!)
Your pupils will learn the difference between active, dormant and extinct volcanoes as well as the difference between shield and stratovolcanoes.
Following on from this workshop, your pupils can write an information text about everything they have learnt and experienced. Our literacy bundles include lesson plans, example texts and LKS2 and UKS2 writing checklists.
We cover the following topics using VR:
Rainforests, Space, Egyptians, Mayans, Volcanoes, Wonders of the World, Under the Sea, WW1, Polar Regions, Digestive System, Romans, Stone Age, Mountains, Americas, The Tudors, Vikings, Circulatory System, Africa, Animals, India & Beyond, Journey Across China, The Respiratory System and Around the World.
Curriculum topics available: Creative writing.
At PrimeVR, we understand how difficult it can be to inspire children with their writing. We aim to create excitement by virtually transporting pupils to see different volcanoes around the world! Not only will we provide your class with exciting facts about volcanoes but we'll also provide them with an experience to ignite their imagination. Give VR a go and see how it helps with creative writing!
Following on from our workshop, you can download our literacy lesson pack, which encourages children to write about what they've learnt. Each lesson pack includes an instruction sheet, model text and writing checklist (relevant to LKS2 or UKS2).
Curriculum topics available: Volcanoes.
PrimeVR can bring your geography topic to life by transporting pupils around the world to see different types of volcanoes! Using virtual reality headsets, we'll introduce your class to the different classifications of volcanoes, how often they can erupt and they'll also get to see YellowStone Supervolcano in the United States!
planets in our Solar System, their respective sizes, the Milky Way Galaxy and we'll even step onboard the International Space Station!
In line with government guidance, we can deliver a maximum of six workshops throughout the school day with a maximum of 15 pupils in each workshop.
We bring in 16 headsets and each pupil will have their own during the workshop. Each headset will be cleaned thoroughly with anti-bacterial wipes in between each use.
We recommend workshops lasting a maximum of 30 minutes.
