The story of Ancient Egypt is vast, complex, and endlessly fascinating. Few facts illustrate this better than the realisation that Cleopatra VII lived closer to the present day than to the building of the Great Pyramid of Cheops.
For centuries, this ancient civilisation has captured imaginations - from its monumental architecture and powerful rulers to its rich belief system and everyday life along the Nile.
In our Ancient Egyptians Experience Day, pupils are guided through this remarkable period by Edward, a passionate Egyptologist who helps them make sense of thousands of years of history in a way that is meaningful, memorable, and accessible for KS2 learners.
Rather than focusing on isolated facts, the day gives pupils a clear sense of scale, chronology, and significance. Children explore where key rulers, monuments, and developments fit within the wider story of Ancient Egypt, helping them understand how the civilisation changed - and endured - over time.
Through guided discussion and role-play, pupils encounter the people behind the pyramids: builders, scribes, priests, and pharaohs. They also explore the gods and goddesses that shaped Egyptian belief, learning how religion influenced daily life, death, and the afterlife.
Throughout the day, learning is reinforced through practical challenges and hands-on activities, allowing pupils to apply what they have discovered in an active, engaging way.
