Olympic Games Workshop

One Day Creative

School Workshop

trip icon One Day is a forward-thinking creative education company, connecting children and learning with creativity and imagination. For the Olympic Games, your school has the choice of two workshops for KS1 & KS2. In "Vive la France", pupils will use an array of drama activities to explore the culture of this wonderful country. To begin? A wander through the magical streets of Paris, rich with history, significant landmarks and serious style.

Or, select History of the Olympics and your pupils will leap, run and jump into ancient history. Discover how this worldwide sporting event has endured and changed over time. Your class will find out what it takes to be an athlete, plus some of the weird and wonderful sports they can take part in.

Which curriculum topics do we cater for?

Performing Arts Workshop

All our workshops use drama, dance and/or movement to stimulate learning and capture children's imaginations. Our team of performing arts professionals have a range of activities up their sleeve to ensure your chosen topic is as accessible and engaging as possible for your pupils.

We also make sure to tie in key curriculum objectives linked to your chosen topic. Our extensive range of school workshops cover History, STEM, Geography, World Culture, PSHE and more.

Greeks Workshop

Olympics

Step back in time to Ancient Greece and let your KS1 & KS2 pupils discover the origin of the Olympic Games. Closely tied to Greek mythology, beliefs and culture, we'll use drama to discover why the games started. Plus, how their legacy endures to this day.

Ancient Civilisations Workshop

Ancient Greeks

Pupils will embark on a drama-filled journey to ancient Greece to discover the History of the Olympics. The Olympic Games were started by the Greeks in 776 BC to honour the almighty king of the gods, Zeus. 776 BC?! That's a seriously long time ago! So why do we still celebrate and compete today?

Drama Workshop

All our workshops use drama, role-play and team activities to capture children's imaginations and drive learning. Our team of performing arts professionals have a range of activities up their sleeve to ensure your chosen topic is as accessible and engaging as possible for your pupils.

What size groups do we cater for?

We can deliver workshops to up to 4 classes in a school day, depending on the type of workshop and age group of the classes involved. Each session caters for a maximum of 35 children.

Visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Absolutely! Drama is a wonderfully inclusive way for children with SEN to access learning. Please let us know of any specific needs or requirements before your day and we can adapt our sessions to fit.
