One Day is a forward-thinking creative education company, connecting children and learning with creativity and imagination. In this drama workshop, your facilitator will take your KS2 pupils on a drama-filled journey to the banks of the Yellow River where the powerful Shang Dynasty used to dwell. For over five centuries they ruled as an impressive civilisation, with fearsome warriors and remarkable royal palaces. But what happened next? Using drama and role play, your pupils will become part of the Shang Dynasty's elite army, learn their religious beliefs and discover the skill that went into their famous jade carvings!

What activities are available during this school workshop?
In this Shang Dynasty workshop, your class will have the opportunity to express ideas and feelings through voice, movement, role play and drama. In addition, they will:

Performing Arts Workshop
All our workshops use drama, dance and/or movement to stimulate learning and capture children's imaginations. Our team of performing arts professionals have a range of activities up their sleeve to ensure your chosen topic is as accessible and engaging as possible for your pupils.
Ancient Civilisations Workshop
The Shang Dynasty Ancient China
During the workshop, our drama facilitator will guide your class through an exploration of the people who populated the Shang Dynasty. From fearsome warriors and the royal family to everyday people, your pupils will learn how they lived and worked. Plus, how their achievements helped shape the world.
What size groups do we cater for?
We can deliver workshops to up to 4 classes in a school day, depending on the type of workshop and age group of the classes involved. Each session caters for a maximum of 35 children.
Visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Absolutely! Drama is a wonderfully inclusive way for children with SEN to access learning. Please let us know of any specific needs or requirements before your day and we can adapt our sessions to fit.
