Using drama and role play, your pupils will become part of the Shang Dynasty's elite army, learn their religious beliefs and discover the skill that went into their famous jade carvings!

What activities are available during this educational workshop?

In this Shang Dynasty workshop, your class will have the opportunity to express ideas and feelings through voice, movement, role play and drama. In addition, they will:

✨ Examine the historical context of the Shang Dynasty including how it began and ended
✨ Discover who populated the Shang Dynasty, how they lived, worked and shaped the world
✨ Understand the importance of religion and how people communicated with their gods

Which Curriculum Subjects do you cater for?

All our workshops use drama, dance and/or movement to stimulate learning and capture children's imaginations. Our team of performing arts professionals have a range of activities up their sleeve to ensure your chosen topic is as accessible and engaging as possible for your pupils.

Curriculum topics available: The Shang Dynasty, Ancient China.

During the workshop, our drama facilitator will guide your class through an exploration of the people who populated the Shang Dynasty. From fearsome warriors and the royal family to everyday people, your pupils will learn how they lived and worked. Plus, how their achievements helped shape the world.

What size groups do you cater for?

We can deliver workshops to up to 4 classes in a school day, depending on the type of workshop and age group of the classes involved. Each session caters for a maximum of 35 children.

Do you cater for visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

Absolutely! Drama is a wonderfully inclusive way for children with SEN to access learning. Please let us know of any specific needs or requirements before your day and we can adapt our sessions to fit.
