Buzz Active is a fully accredited BCU training establishment.

The BC (British Canoeing) is the umbrella organisation for canoeing in England, Scotland and Wales. It is responsible for leading and setting the overall framework for the three National Associations as well as representing canoeing interests such as coaching and competition at UK and international level.

Our training courses and instructors adhere to the courses and coaching standards outlined by BC as best practice.

We can tailor a visit to match yuor outcomes. just for fun? as a PE sport? or why not compliment a geography visit with an explore on the water!

With a range of packages and options available including multi day and residential activities based from our other sites, we can offer your group a bespoke experience to suit your needs.

Which curriculum topics do we cater for?

Canoeing Kayaking

We are able to offer SUP, Kayak and canoe as PE GCSE assessed sports, We can work with school groups or engage 1:1. We can support geography modules as we have access to a tidal river, estuary, meander, oxbow lake, Beach, vegetated shingle habitat, wetland area and are at the foot of the iconic Seven Sisters Chalk Cliffs set in a SSSI.

We can run a series of sessions and upskill students with the British Canoeing accredited courses to support their learning and development which can support GCSE PE.

6-60 on the water or up to 90 if we offer a mixed land and water based activity day.

Is there first aid on site?

all staff are first aid qualified

Access for visitors with disabilities

yes. We can discuss individual needs and have DDS compliant changing facilities.

Who are Buzz Active?

Buzz Active are a part of East Sussex County Council, and have been delivering paddle sport activities to groups at this location for over 20 years. We offer canoeing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and raft building activities for school groups, groups with special needs, families, parties, corporate away days and more!
All groups are accompanied by a fully qualified British Canoeing instructor.
From term long courses, day packages to a single session, we can get your group afloat on the beautiful Cukmere meanders.

- Water & Land Taster Sessions
Choose from sailing, Windsurfing, kayaking, paddleboarding, raft building, climbing & high ropes, archery, bushcraft and more. Perfect for introducing your group to new challenges in a fun, engaging environment.
We could even take a group (max 8) on one of our brand new GLOW SUP sessions (start times being 30 minutes before sunset)

- Adventure Activity Days
Create a full day programme at one of our sites; Bushy Wood, Cuckmere, or Eastbourne. Mix and match water and land based activities to suit your group.
From climbing walls and crate stacks to giant paddleboards and mountain biking, there’s something for everyone.

- Curriculum Linked Courses & Clubs
Designed to support PE, geography, science, and personal development, our multi session courses build teamwork, confidence, and skills.
I’ve attached a copy of one of our course frameworks, that we’ve used with a school on a year round outdoor learning programme, so you can get some idea of what we can do.
Certification is included, such as RYA sailing and windsurfing or Paddle UK awards. After school clubs are also available.
