What activities are available during this educational workshop?
TUDORS
Session 1 – Exploration & Expanding Empire: This session looks at the beginning of the
Golden Age of Exploration, the seeds of Empire and famous adventurers like Raleigh and Drake.
Session 2 – Sinking Spanish Ships: With the use of our amazing musket and cannons, students re-enact the sinking of the Spanish ships at Cadiz and the final destruction of the Spanish Armada off the coast of England.
Session 3 – Shakespeare: The Tudor Theatre. In this wonderfully interactive session, students walk the boards of the playhouse, learning about Shakespeare’s plays and the impact of the theatre on day to day life.
Session 4 – Transformational Tudor Triumphs: In this session students use gameplay to uncover the prodigious advances began in Tudor England. We examine advances like the Printing Press, the Royal Mail, Church of England, Birth of the Royal Navy and many more!
STUARTS
Session 5 – Princes, Power & Parliament: One of the greatest periods of upheaval in English
History, this session looks at the English Civil War through the eyes of both Parliament and the Royalists as students re-enact the conflict.
Session 6 – Plague and Pyrotechnics: This session examines the two great tragedies that struck London in as many years – the Great Fire and Great Plague, highlighting the changes they brought to modern London.
Session 7 – The Great Gunpowder Gamble: One of the most iconic plots of England’s History is brought to life in detail in this dramatic workshop as students re-enact the key events and find out why we remember it the way we do now.
Session 8 – Weird Witch Hunts: In this wonderfully wicked session, students examine the heyday of witch-hunting in England by acting out mock trials, grisly punishments and examining how many of these beliefs created the iconic ’witch look’ we still use today.
Which Curriculum Subjects do you cater for?
Curriculum topics available: The Great Fire of London, William Shakespeare, Oliver Cromwell, The Armada, Gunpowder Plot.
After introducing the timeline of all the Tudor Kings & Queens from the Battle of Bosworth on, we proceed through a day of 45 min workshops covering key aspects such as Crime & Punishment, Henry Vlll's wives, the birth of the Royal Navy, the Field of Cloth of Gold and so much more!

What size groups do you cater for?
Any. We can take one class, a whole year group or the whole school depending on your budget!
How does safeguarding work for online workshops?
All of our 'Reel History' online live-interactive workshops are conducted via Zoom, where we host the call. No recording takes place and video can be turned on or off depending whether young people can be seen or not.
What technology/devices/type of internet connection do schools need for an online workshop?
For our online workshops, schools will need:
A good, stable internet connection, an interactive whiteboard, projector and screen or large TV connected to a computer. You will need to connect to Zoom, link to a screen of some kind and have speakers that project sound to your children watching.
Do you offer access for visitors with disabilities?
Yes of course. Most of our provision is fully accessible.
Do you cater for visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
Yes absolutely. We currently work in partnership with a local SEN school so we are experienced in delivering to all levels.
