When it comes to what we deliver and how we deliver it, nobody goes the extra mile like we do...
OUR VANS ARE HUGE! ... because we fill them with resources, kit and equipment for you!
OUR SET-UP TIMES ARE LONG! ...because we want to take the time to turn your classroom, hall or playground into Ancient Wonders!
OUR INSTRUCTORS ARE PHYSICALLY FIT! ...because they don't stand and talk; they act, fight, direct, group manage, build and construct alongside your young people.
OUR WORKSHOPS FIT YOUR NEEDS! ... all of our workshops are closely linked to the curriculum and delivered by our instructors who know how to engage young people!
In short....no one will go as far as we do to ensure your young people have the most value from one of our visits!
Infamous Invaders - We examine the surprise and shock elicited by the first recorded Viking raid at Lindisfarne Abbey where young people are split into Viking and Saxon groups and compete to reach their objectives.
Fame & Feasting - Celebrating the success of the Lindisfarne raid, we prepare for and carry out a Viking Feast, examining the levels of Viking society as well as the important part played by sagas and storytelling.
A Game of Stones - Our very own interactive game designed to highlight the chronology and important Historical moments of the ‘Dark Ages’ through gameplay, role-play and drama.
Bereavement, Burials and the Beyond - By enacting Viking and Saxon burials we discover the similarities and differences in their customs, religion and beliefs about the afterlife.
Perjury, Penance and Punishment - Setting up 3 different courts of law, young people try, convict and punish a number of cases according to the customs and laws of the time.
Barbaric Battles - One of our most engaging sessions, these follow a structured format of training for war, setting the scene and enacting out the key points of Historic Battles like
Brunenburgh, Edington & Stamford Bridge

At The Past Presents we combine our years of experience teaching young people with our unrivalled equipment, resources & activities to bring to you the wonderment of the past.
Our passion is to provide an evolving, ever-improving vehicle for learning which we can use to spark in your young people an interest in History.
It is also important to us that we use these wondrous vehicles for learning to communicate one of the key reasons for studying History....that understanding the past helps us understand who we are and where we are going.
