One Day Creative
One Day is a forward-thinking creative education company, connecting children and learning with creativity and imagination. In this drama workshop, you'll be joined by a facilitator to explore the lives and deeds of some of history's most influential figures ' Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks and Nelson Mandela. Explore the Civil Rights Movement in the United States and the achievements of black history heroes both in the past and more modern times.

What activities are available during this school workshop?
In this Black History workshop, your class will have the opportunity to express ideas and feelings through voice, movement, role play and drama. In addition, they will:
Explore the life of significant individuals in the Civil Rights Movement
Examine how these people changed the world we live in and what we can do to continue that legacy
Encourage moral, social and cultural awareness though the exploration of key events within living memory

Our Black History Month workshop for KS2 brings the 'long walk to freedom' to life and broaden the horizons of your pupils. Using a range of interactive, drama-based activities our drama facilitator will guide your class through the lives and actions of Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks and Nelson Mandela.

>What size groups do we cater for?
We can deliver workshops to up to 4 classes in a school day, depending on the type of workshop and age group of the classes involved. Each session caters for a maximum of 35 children.
Groups with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND)
Absolutely! Drama is a wonderfully inclusive way for children with SEN to access learning. Please let us know of any specific needs or requirements before your day and we can adapt our sessions to fit.
