A key part of the education programme is Lifelab - the largest provider of schools science workshops in any European museum or science centre, providing over 40,000 educational experiences to school students every year. Lifelab offers curriculum enrichment and enhancement by providing access to equipment and expertise that is not normally available in schools.From the exhibition which takes a look at Human Life and the hugely popular visiting exhibitions on a variety of subjects to curriculum-linked workshops for schools and adult groups, there's a wide range of learning opportunities for all ages and abilities from pre-school to Post 16.
We continue to broaden our approach to STEM subjects as our Mathstastic programme demonstrates; we offer Gifted and Talented events every term; our programme of dialogue and discussion activities continues to grow; and we have been developing activities suitable for use in themed workshops for some time. Our aim is to provide the support necessary for STEM subject teaching, and we're always exploring new ways to do this.

What size groups do we cater for?
We have no maximum group size at the centre, however for health and safety reasons, we have an absolute limit of 36 students in all labs

Full first aid facilities on site
Access for visitors with disabilities
Full disabled facilities including level access and lifts to all floors, disabled parking and toilets, and wheelchairs for hire.
