Where we travel to

We can visit your school in:

What activities are available during this school workshop?

We cover the following topics using VR:

Ancient Maya, The Romans, The Vikings, The Egyptians, The Greeks, The Stone Age, World Wars, Polar Regions, North America, South America, China, Wonders of the World, Around the World, Mount Everest, Africa, Animals, Ocean Explorers, The Rainforest, Volcanoes, Biomes, Space and Climate Change.

Which curriculum topics do we cater for?

English

Creative writing

At PrimeVR, we understand how difficult it can be to inspire children with their writing. We aim to create excitement by virtually transporting pupils to various famous mountains around the world! Not only will we provide your class with exciting facts about these mountains but we'll also provide them with an experience to ignite their imagination. Give VR a go and see how it helps with creative writing!

Physical Geography

Mountains Map and atlas Environment Climate zones and biomes Glaciers Natural Disasters Weather Wonders of the World

PrimeVR can bring your geography topic to life by transporting your pupils to Mount Everest! Using virtual reality headsets, we'll take your class to stand at the summit and they'll also be able to see what it's like to stay at base camp. We'll also discuss the risks for climbers attempting to ascend to the top, including altitude sickness, moving glaciers, unpredictable avalanches and the impact of global warming on the mountain!

What size groups do we cater for?

We can deliver up to six workshops throughout the school day with a maximum of 32 pupils in each workshop.

We bring in 16 headsets and pupils will share one between two during workshops.

We recommend workshops lasting approximately 30-45 minutes.

Access for visitors with disabilities

Please get in touch if you have any specific questions regarding accessing our VR headsets.

Visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

We have extensive experience delivering workshops in a wide range of SEN settings, working with students from KS2 through to KS4. The feedback we have received from schools about our VR workshops has been overwhelmingly positive. We offer a range of workshops that can be adapted to suit the individual needs of your students.

Before confirming a booking, we arrange a call with the school to discuss your students’ needs in detail. This allows us to explain how the day will run, what you can expect from the sessions, and to agree on any additional measures or adjustments that may be needed to ensure all students feel comfortable and supported.

To make our visits viable, we encourage whole-school participation (KS2 and above). Our workshops are highly engaging and immersive, so we recommend a maximum session length of 30 minutes per class to help prevent fatigue or sensory overload.

Our VR headsets are accessible for students who use wheelchairs. Depending on individual preference, the headset strap can be worn over the head or the device can simply be held up to the eyes like a pair of binoculars. If any students find the headset overwhelming, we also provide tablets as an alternative (usually up to four per visit). This ensures that all students can still take part and engage with the content in a way that feels comfortable for them.

As our workshops are predominantly visual, students with hearing impairments are still able to benefit from the experience.

For safety reasons, we recommend that students who are prone to seizures or who have epilepsy consult with a medical professional before using a VR headset. We also require parental or guardian consent for all students who will be using our VR equipment.

Please get in touch if you would like to discuss how we can support your school or if you have any questions about our SEN-friendly approach.

Our Reviews from Schools..

★★★★★
The workshops were great, especially the fact that you could tailor it to the topic you were studying. All were delivered smoothly and included our many SEND children who loved it. One quote from a boy who had the mountain workshop was 'I have no words, it was unbelievably amazing. I loved it!' It was easy to communicate beforehand and the workshop was good value.

★★★★★
Thanks for an amazing day for our Ks2 children! They were all so engaged in the learning and Stuart was great with them! The session was well paced and they used geographical knowledge to locate places they were visiting through the VR headset on the world maps. It was an excellent experience to engage them into their new geography topics. Feedback from the children was very positive and I would highly recommend the workshops we had- volcanoes, mountains, rainforest and polar regions. The booking process and communication by email was easy and Stuart was very professional and helpful. I also like that there are lesson plans to support the session afterwards. A huge thanks for the Prime VR experience!
