The environmental education charity Field Studies Council, is a leading provider of science, geography and cross-curricular learning outside the classroom, welcoming nearly 3,000 schools each year to our locations. One in four A level biology students and over half of all A level geography students visit our locations each year, as well as thousands of primary and secondary pupils. As a charity we are also able to offer financial support to groups and individuals who are disadvantaged through our own Bursary Fund and Kids Fund.

Field Studies Council is an environmental education charity providing informative and enjoyable opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to discover, explore, and understand the environment:
- Learning outside the classroom experiences with their school, college or university
- Professional training courses for teachers and environmental professionals
- Identification guides and free resources
- Funded projects both in the UK and abroad
- Campaigns for the right to outdoor learning and fieldwork

We have field centres across the UK so you can choose the location to best suit you - whether it's a London park, Pembrokeshire coastline or the Scottish Highlands. Our field teachers are passionate about the outdoors and they deliver fieldwork and outdoor learning all year round. Experience amazing outdoor locations at Field Studies Council’s network of UK Centres. Our courses are all focused on students being immersed in the natural world. They also make use of the beautiful surroundings including using bushcraft skills.

Residential fieldwork created specifically for International Baccalaureate Diploma students in geography, biology and ESS. Field Studies Council has a network of UK Centres to choose from, many with easy transport links for UK and major airports.

London Field Sites

Field Studies Council uses sites across London including parks and urban spaces to deliver exciting fieldwork and outdoor learning day trips. We work in partnership with The Royal Parks and the London Borough of Lewisham at some of these locations.

Preston Montford Field Centre
